Mr. Malek is the Chief Investment Officer at Muriel Siebert & Co. (NASDAQ: SIEB), where he established the firm’s asset management practice, driving significant growth in assets under management. He leads portfolio management for ETF platforms and equity and fixed income portfolios, leveraging proprietary algorithms to deliver consistent performance. As Co-Head of the Syndicate Desk, he oversees capital markets underwriting and spearheads macroeconomic research and forecasting.
A leader in financial innovation, Mr. Malek has been instrumental in developing Siebert’s Robo Advisor, trading platform, and quantitative investing infrastructure. He chairs the firm’s Investment Committee, setting policies and ensuring robust risk management. His market insights, distributed through widely followed publications, are referenced by key industry stakeholders. With over 35 years of experience in quantitative finance, modeling, algorithm design, analysis, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and securities trading, Mr. Malek is a sought-after commentator, frequently featured on CNBC, Fox News, Bloomberg TV, Reuters, Barron’s, The Wall Street Journal, IBD, and other major financial outlets.
Previously, Mr. Malek served as Chief Investment Officer at Praxis Insight Advisors, where he founded a fintech firm that was later acquired by Siebert. He managed investments for high-profile clients, including multi-billion-dollar family offices and RIAs, and built ETF Management Platforms alongside top-performing quant-based strategies.
His entrepreneurial achievements include serving as Founder & CEO of Lightspeed Digital Media, where he led multiple successful venture rounds, and as a Partner at 3T Equity Partners, advising and investing in early-stage ventures. Earlier, Mr. Malek held senior leadership roles as Vice President of Corporate Development at AT&T and Director of Strategy and Corporate Development at Lucent Technologies, managing transactions exceeding billions in value and overseeing large venture portfolios.
Mr. Malek began his career as a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Westmarc Capital Partners, where he developed cutting-edge quantitative algorithms for fixed income strategies. He holds a BA in Economics and an MBA in Finance from Rutgers University.
